Icelandic horses and juicy apples on the Ring Road

Iceland’s Ring Road is one of the world’s most epic road trips. This cannot be overstated. Even in the depths of winter, the Ring Road just delivers wilderness and adventure day after day. Pinnacle of day 4: stopping on a desolate road as the sun set at 2.30pm and feeding the magnificent Icelandic horses. Dotted around the sprawling marshes and moors, the big, fat apples we had bought (seriously, like 3x bigger than a normal large apple) were the perfect way to make friends and get to see them up close.
